Been a while

It's been a while since I posted anything but still making slow progress toward my goal. Still working hard on portion control, which is the only way to go with regard to what I eat...if I had to restrict what I ate I'm sure I'd not succeed but by cutting back and eating smaller portions I'm making it work.

Still not working out as many days as I'd like but will set a goal of 6 days this week. Let's see if I can stick with it since I'm in town this week!

Slowly but surely I'm getting there...

It's such a slow process to lose weight gradually and safely but that's what I'm doing. I'm down by 40+ lbs so far since Jan 08 and down from a size 18 to a size 10 so far. Still have another 30 lbs or so to go but mostly want it to be fat loss, not just weight loss. I've managed to improve my fat percentage...down almost 10% from when I started...need to do better in that department though, especially with these last 30 lbs...must be fat loss, not muscle.

Finding time to workout is still a challenge but it's one I'm determined to overcome. I've got some great programs I'm using and I really enjoy them but still have time management issues with work, travel, school, etc.

Some progress

I'm still not working out like I need to but have continued to lose weight. I'm down several sizes in clothes and plan to really get my butt in gear with consistent workouts this week. It's all that I need to really push for the rest of the weight to come off and to tone up.

Travel is good for your diet!!!

Ok, at least travel has been good for my diet...I'm down by 14 lbs now...still a long way to go and not exercising enough but I'll take what I can get at this point. I've not worked out today so plan to do it this evening around 5 pm.

It's been a while since I posted anything on any of my blogs...it's been a crazy few weeks, what with traveling to the Philippines for 3 weeks. I start to school again May 5 so I'm trying to get into the habit of working out daily so it will be part of my day even after school starts.

One thing I did while in the Philippines was to really control portions...of course I know that's a key to a good diet anyway but it's so hard sometimes for me to stop when something is good. I'm getting a lot better at controlling that now. I've cut way back on alcohol...down to only one or two drinks per week and may even cut that out until after I get the weight completely off since it's nothing but empty calories anyway. The good thing about working on the other side of the globe and having to work their nights is that you don't overeat at supper because it's breakfast. Some days I'd just have a salad and soup, other days I'd have fruit and an omelette....bare in mind, I'd worked all night and normally, at home, I don't go in for breakfast as my evening meal! Both lunch and dinner were normal meals, I just made sure to control the amount I was eating...I even splurged and had desert sometimes...just not a lot.

Since coming home I've tried to continue to watch my portions and stick to healthy eating...lots of salads and avoiding heavy creamy dressings. When creamy dressings were the only option, I get them on the side and use them sparingly.

I can't wait to get down to my normal size again...I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it feels good. The next thing I must do it get into the daily exercise routine as I mentioned before...that is essential to hitting my goal and to improving my health.

More weight off

I've lost some more weight...that makes a total of 30 lbs and most of it has come off since December. I'm still not working out like I should, it's just been so hard. This week I've tried catching up on my sleep after the last 2 nights of school only getting 3 hrs each night. I'm still not quite caught up but not having school right now is helping.

I hope to get back into the swing of working out so I can get toned up...I'm so flabby right now, it's disgusting.

Now down to 168 from the all time high of 198...another 18 lbs and everyone will be able to tell I'm losing...I just want to be more consistent with the workouts so I'll tone up while I'm at it.

I'm back home

I'm back from India and weighed in. I lost 3 lbs in the 13 days I was gone so that makes me very happy. Unfortunately I had no time to work out...between work, school and all the travel there was no time to sleep that much, much less workout. I'm not taking a class during my next trip and there isn't as much traveling around so I am hopeful I'll get to workout while I'm in the Philippines.

The food in India was great. Some of it was full of fat though so I had to go easy on those things but I'm getting better at potion control...just gotta keep it up.

Goals

The goal will be to post my progress daily instead of the hit or miss schedule I've been doing. Couldn't workout this morning due to appointment but will walk at least 15 - 20 mins at lunch, then do Burn 1 CE tonight. I'll post an update after the workout tonight.

Still loving the pedometer and the program that came with it. The old one only logged the steps in the pedometer and had no program in which to store the info. This one is so cool. New scales measure weight and fat...I'm still fat. :-( But working to change that fact so, chin up ole girl. :-)

Lost another pound and down one size but still struggling to cut the fat out of the diet. One thing I've noticed though, I can tell very quickly when I've had too much fat in my food. It tastes like I'm stuffing butter or oil in my mouth and it doesn't taste good to me anymore when there's too much fat. I'm also drinking more water...still have to go to the bathroom what seems like every few minutes...I hope my body gets use to the extra water soon. Also, I've almost cut alcohol completely out, which is very good...way too many empty calories and I'm sure my liver is thanking me! Not that I was an alcoholic but I'd gotten in the habit of having a glass of wine or a beer every night...too much of a good thing is a bad thing!

New Awesome Pedometer!

I love my new pedometer. I've finally got my computer back and will load the software tonight...it will help me track my progress. Also got the new scale with the fat and BMI tracker. I'm fat!!!! Oh well, it would have been worse if I'd had it in December, I've lost 16 lbs since then and at least a some of it was fat.

Eee gads, it's hard to get motivated to workout sometimes. I'm feeling rested finally after 2 nights of 9+ hrs of sleep each. Motivating myself is still a struggle, just wish this was something I loved instead of just knowing it's a 'must do' thing for my health. One would think at my age I'd be better organized to enssure working out was build into my daily calendar.

I'm going to walk for 30 mins at lunch so my steps for the day should be much higher and hopefully I'll hit my target today. Also going to do a weight workout when I get home. I'll post notes from the workout tonight.

Missed my morning workout

I was up late last night finishing the assignment for class so over slept today and missed my morning workout. I'm going to walk at lunch and hopefully get off work early enough to do my workout tonight. Shoot, I've just got to find some balance and get more organized.

Well, off to the travel doctor today to prepare for the trip to India.

Well here it is Sunday and I've not worked out since Wednesday. This lack of consistency will be my undoing! It's not too late in the day so I'm going to workout this afternoon. I'll post a progress report tonight, just to keep me honest.

Lord, I need an accountablity partner in this but the Beachbody network is such a pain and takes so long to load, it's not worth the effort. Please send me a workout buddy that's willing to exchange info via the web. We could hold one another accountable and cheer each other on.

Ok, I have 2 weeks until I travel to India. I want to be down another 8 lbs by then which means I've got to 'get with the program' and increase the workouts for the next 2 weeks. I've got tubing to take with me and the DVDs should travel well in the case so no excuses about not working out while I'm away.

My friend in Portland, Oregon is going to send me some info on the vitamins she sells which are supposed to be the best on the market. She and her husband use them and really have good things to say about them so I'm willing to give them a try if they will help me increase my energy reserves...which are sorely lacking these days.

No workout today

I thought I'd be able to workout today or at least this evening but the way I'm feeling right now, it's just not going to happen. I want to go home and crawl in the bed. I'm exhausted after 2 nights of very little sleep. Ah, to quote Scarlett, "Tomorrow is another day!"

Move

It's hard sometimes when I have to sit behind a computer typing most of the day to actually remember to get up and move but just getting up a few times each day, trotting down the stairs, out the door...even for a few minutes, makes all the difference in the way I feel at the end of the day.

Starting Over

I'm going to get pictures and measurements tomorrow and start CE over again tomorrow. The workout is great and I know I'll see results if I'm consistent and tame the food beast. As I said in an earlier post, I'm doing lots better and I'm eating more fruits and veggis so that's a good thing. My portion sizes have gotten smaller, which is also good, but I've still got way too much fat in my diet. One step at the time, I'm making small improvements to the diet to get on track. Now to get consistency with the workouts so I can build stamina and endurance along with building muscle and getting rid of the fat.

90 days is not too long and I know I'll see major improvements if I stick with it.

ChaLean Extreme

Didn't do this week as planned, life got in the way. I'm going to make a stronger effort for consistency this week. My diet has been fair, better than before I started but not as good as it really needs to be if I'm serious about getting healthy. Mom wanted me to bring home Kentucky Fried chicken last night of all things...needless to say I didn't do it. We ate leftovers instead. I'm going to Whole Foods for some fish for tonight and maybe some chicken for tomorrow...plus some yummy fresh veggies.

Just have to keep reminding myself, it's one step at a time. Each little change that moves me to improve is a success.

Still not as consistent as I want to be but the CE workout is great. I'm loving it. I've signed up on Beachbody and have Success Buddies for a few days. Not sure if that's going to motivate me or not but it's worth a try.

ChaLean Extreme

Although I got this workout program the other day, I completed one day, then couldn't workout again until today so I started over today. I'm commited to seeing this through and working out 5 - 6 days per week.

Burn Circuit 1 - Great workout and I made it through to the end. I started with Turbo Jam, Learn and Burn program for 16 minutes to warm up then went into the weight workout, Burn Circuit 1. I was not able to lift as much weight as I would have liked but I know that will come in time. I was also not able to complete all reps for every exercise but that too will come in time.

I was not able to get my pictures taken today so will need to do that tomorrow, but did take my measurements and weight. Gotta long way to go but it will be worth it to be healthy and fit again.
